When you launch Audeus for the first time, you will be prompted to grant permissions for a seamless experience:

- Storage/All Files Access: Required to import local PDFs, EPUBs, and text files stored in your Android device's internal storage or SD card.
Getting Started: Import and Listen
Once installed, log into your Audeus account to instantly sync your library, settings, and playback progress.
How to Import Documents
- Navigate to the Library tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the floating "+" (Add) button in the bottom right corner.
- Select your import method:
- Import File: Browse local documents from your device's "Files" app, SD card, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
- Scan Document (Camera OCR): Take a photo of a physical page or handout, and Audeus will convert the text to audio instantly.
- Paste Text: Paste articles or links to web pages to listen to them immediately.

Critical Settings: Keep Audeus Playing in the Background
Android devices feature aggressive battery management systems that sometimes terminate background audio apps to save power. To prevent audio from suddenly pausing when you lock your screen:
Disable Battery Optimization for Audeus
- Open your Android device Settings app.
- Go to Apps (or Apps & Notifications) > Audeus.
- Tap Battery or App battery usage.
- Set the battery usage setting to Unrestricted (or disable "Battery Optimization" depending on your Android version).
This ensures the Android system allows Audeus to run uninterrupted in the background for long reading sessions.
